The Little Farmhouse is the home my husband grew up in. It had been abandoned for many years when we purchased the property from the other heirs and made the decision to bring it back to life. It was a long and tedious process but the end result was a delight. We kept the original paint colors and added other decor in keeping with the era of time. The flu was in the center of the home so that each room could have a flu eye for a wood stove pipe . We removed the flu and there was just the right amount of space under the stairway for the central heat and air unit. We added bathrooms, one downstairs and one upstairs. The kitchen now has all the modern conveniences we've come to expect such as a dishwasher, microwave oven and a full size cook stove. One of the nicest features of the little farmhouse is the screened in porch along the south side of the house. Sitting there with a cup of coffee watching the morning light appear makes it easy to have a conversation with the creator of it all. Also, in the summer you will be surrounded by crop (corn or soy), because it still is a working farm. The driveway is a large circular driveway, and there is plenty of room for several cars and/or trucks with boat trailers. House is close to Maple Street, so you will hear some traffic noise. No motorized vehicles allowed. Find 1 of 4 elevated box blinds to sit and read, and wait for wildlife for viewing or photography. My hobby is to take photos of deer. Cabin is basic with gas lights, gas heat, gas cookstove, etc. No bathroom, you get to use a outhouse! (It won't let me show 0 bathrooms). No running water. This is camping with the family time "roughing it." There is a water spicket at the road and of course the creek. There is a set of bunkbeds and a pullout couch. Table/chairs, porch, etc set on an alfalfa food plot in the interior of the property. Now, you can bring a quiet generator and hook up to the big screen TV and DVD player.
